Lavender sachet heart is a unique gift for any occasion. You can hang this pillow near the bed. Thus, the aroma of herbs will calm your sleep, and the design of a heart-shaped pillow will complement the interior. I made this pillow from natural linen. So, mixture of Carpathian herbs (thyme, mint, lime flowers) gives a rich and delicate aroma. I am sure you will like the prevailing note of lavender, of course. Its name derives from the Latin root “lavare,” which literally means “to wash.”The earliest recorded use of lavender dates back to ancient Egypt. There, lavender oil played a role in the mummification process. During later times, lavender became a bath additive in several regions, including Persia, ancient Greece, and Rome. These cultures believed that lavender helped purify the body and mind.
Size without laces 5 x 6.5 inches (13 x 16 cm). Width of lace – 1.5 inches.
I made this sachet pillow with machine embroidery and handmade tatting lace. Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace constructed by a series of knots and loops. Tatting dates to the early 19th century. It’s a rare workmanship these days.

To create lavender sachet heart, I used: linen, high-quality polyester embroidery threads, Bernina sewing-embroidery computer, ivory color cotton threads, tatting needle, scissors, and mixture of aromatic herbs.
