Description
Tatting Pattern Marilee.
This pattern continues my Gratitude Collection. I give names to my patterns in honor of distant, yet close in spirit, friends who support me and my country in these difficult times. This one is dedicated to Marilee — a creative tatting artist, a woman with the brightest smile, and a person with a big heart. Thank you, dear Marilee! 💖
Discover the beauty of shuttle tatting with the Marilee pattern 🌸. This tutorial includes written instructions in English, a graphic diagram, and step-by-step photos. In addition, I added links to helpful videos 🎥, so you can follow the process more easily.
The pattern is 8 pages long and has a file size of about 3.00 MB. Therefore, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader or any other PDF software to open it.
This pattern is of medium difficulty. However, I also created a special version for beginners 🧵. So, even if you only know how to make rings, chains, and picots, you can join the fun.
The design includes a creative twist, which gives the lace its unique charm ✨. Moreover, this pattern is perfect for those who love to experiment and create unexpected results.

Why is Tatting Pattern Marilee special?
With this purchase, you actually get three patterns in one 💎:
a lace edging with picots on the outer row,
a bookmark, bracelet, or choker without picots,
earrings with beads and rondelles.
The key element here is the use of Split Chains in a new way. As a result, you don’t need to cut the thread between motifs, yet you still achieve an unusual combination of chains. This makes the pattern both a practical lesson and a learning tool for mastering Split Chains.
At the same time, I added a simple alternative for beginners. In that case, you will cut and hide the ends after each small motif. But this method allows you to practice and combine motifs freely, experiment with connections, and therefore invent countless new designs 🌺.
Materials and size
For my samples, I used #50 polyester thread, which makes one strip approximately 2 cm wide.
Lace: white thread 🤍
Bookmark: yellow and blue threads 💛💙
Earrings: black thread with 1 mm red seed beads and 4×6 mm Czech red rondelles ❤️
Of course, you can choose any colors or beads you prefer, so your creation will always reflect your own style 🌈.
