Description
Antique Border Tatting Pattern. PDF and Video Tutorial.
This elegant Antique Border Tatting Pattern is a lovingly reimagined version of a vintage lace edging first published in Spool Cotton 77 and 111. π It now comes with modern diagrams, step-by-step photo instructions, and an in-depth video tutorial.
The pattern includes two working methods: shuttle tatting and needle tatting, so you can choose the one that suits you best! π«‘
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader or any PDF software to open the file. The PDF contains 6 pages and is approximately 2.20 MB in size.
To make this design even more versatile, I have added two brand-new elements: a Corner motif and a Rounded edging. So now your project can be perfectly finished, whether it’s square, rectangular, or circular!
β¨ For Beginners and Experienced Tatters
This pattern is very beginner-friendly. Even if you are just starting your journey into tatting lace, you will enjoy working with this design.
To make it easier, I have also created a free video tutorial that walks you through every step. πΉhttps://youtu.be/-hhM84oTQ2E
Moreover, advanced tatters will appreciate the elegance of the design and the opportunity to give an antique pattern a modern twist. π
β¨ What makes this Antique border tatting pattern special?Β Highlights and Bonus Features

πΉ Includes a bonus Corner Pattern β perfect for creating handkerchiefs or square-bordered items. Your final product will look elegant and well-finished from every angle.
πΉ Features a Rounded Version β ideal for round doilies, table mats, or circular borders.

β¨ Materials, Tools & Finished Size
I used polyester thread No. 50 for the samples in the photos. With this thread size, the finished lace is approximately 1 inch wide. Of course, you may use a thicker thread if desired. Just remember β the thicker the thread, the wider the lace, and the more solid it will appear. πΏPick any color that matches your fabric or mood β you have full creative freedom! πYou can work with either a tatting shuttle or a tatting needle, as both methods are clearly explained and demonstrated.
π§ Attention!
You do not need to download the file yourself!
