I used # 40 mercerized cotton thread. In this case, the size of the finished doily is about 7 inches (17 cm) around .

You can make such a set of doily for serving a festive table or decorating a stylish boudoir. But you need to try very hard. Because the level of work is difficult. You must be able to Ring, Chain, Split Ring, Long Picot.
