Summer soon

Summer soon, or how I enjoy the sun and warmth.

Hello, everyone!

Ah, finally it has warmed up here. I am immensely happy about the beginning of this spring. I know it was snowing in some places recently. Whoa! Perhaps some of my readers love snow, but not in the month of May, HA HA!

Attention! Read this post until the end, for a pleasant surprise awaits you! 🙂

So, summer is coming, hurray! I think the wonderful lines of the poet Edel T. Copeland will tell better than me about this wonderful time of the year.

Rippling crystal waters shine like silver to reflect summer’s glow.
Soothing and calming in rhythm, echoing its lyrical flow.
Magical music of nature, a symphony of splendid delight.
Skies like blue oceans in paradise, birds soaring to grasp full flight.

Gentle swans glide gracefully, elegant yet proud and strong,
Birds and bees in unison, the joyful hum of nature’s song.
Rolling summer meadows shimmer, like jewels in Mother Nature’s crown.
Embellishing fields of emerald green draped in its golden gown.

Light sweet air blows softly, scented by sweet cherry blossom in bloom.
Delicate, pretty petals lifting to dance in harmony with summer’s tune.
The sounds and scents of summer, its melody light and free.
Sands of gold that glisten, embracing waves of a warm and whispering sea.

By the way, I have added a detailed video to each tutorial from the Summer Mood collection (each video is about 35 minutes long). And now you can watch a short video on my channel. https://youtu.be/9t4sa1Aq5eo

Unknown Paris

Word Paris in black and white with Eiffel Tower as the letter A, minimalist logo, Pixabay free image, uploaded by FairyLacefromElena

Unknown Paris, or 10 facts you haven’t heard of!

Hello everyone!

You may have already seen my new little 3D model of the Eiffel Tower.
You know that this tower is the symbol of Paris, the capital of France. And yes, I’m sure you know the history of this tower. The French at first demanded to remove “this iron monster” and not to spoil the face of the city. But, fortunately, this did not happen. The famous Louvre, Versailles, Montmartre, Champs Elysees … How many famous sights there are in Paris!
But there are several unknown facts. I want to tell you about this.

Unknown Paris

France’s main skyscraper

La Tour First (also called Tour CB31) in the La Défense business district has been considered the tallest building in Paris and France for four years now. The height of the tower, the construction of which took a decade (from 1974 to 2011), is 231 meters.

The largest sundial in the world

The 23-meter obelisk of Luxor, more than 3,300 years old, erected in the Place de la Concorde, was transported to France from Egypt in 1836. The top of the two-ton monument is crowned with a 3.5-meter pyramid, directed towards the sky. This is not just a historical treasure, painted with ancient hieroglyphs to glorify Pharaoh Ramses II, but the largest (and possibly the oldest) sundial in the world.

Only one road sign STOP

There is only one stop sign in all of great Paris. You can look at the metropolitan curiosity in the 16th arrondissement. You ask why the sign is not used? The traffic system in Paris is such that drivers on the right always have an advantage on the road.

Shortest street

Rue des Degrés, the shortest street in Paris, is only 5 meters 75 centimeters long. The record holder is located in the 2nd arrondissement, between the Bonne Nouvelle and Strasbourg Saint-Denis metro stations.

Espresso coffee for a maximum of 1 euro

The French love strong black coffee. This drink is also popular among Parisians. To the delight of metropolitan coffee lovers, there are more than 180 cafes scattered around the city, where you can buy aromatic espresso for only 1 euro.

Paris = Lutetia = dirt

Built on the site of an ancient Celtic village (founded in the 3rd century BC), Paris was originally called Lutetia. Almost everyone knows this. But did you know that the word “Lutetia” comes from the Latin lutum, which literally means “dirt”? In the days of the Romans and Gauls, there were no beautiful embankments with bright illumination and lanterns, and the banks of the Seine were buried in a swamp.

Roman ruins

In Paris, real Roman ruins have survived to this day – a stone amphitheater, erected between 53 BC. and 212 A.D. As established by archaeologists, on the site of one of the residential quarters of Paris, there was once a district of Lutetia with baths, an aqueduct and marble fountains. There was even an arena that could accommodate up to 17,000 fans of violent reprisals and theatrical performances. The remains of the Arènes de Lutèce are in the 5th arrondissement on rue Monge and are open to the public. The entrance is free!

The oldest cafe

The oldest café in Paris has been operating since 1686 and is located in the 6th arrondissement at 13 Rue de l’Ancienne Comédie. Le Procope for the first time treated Parisians to excellent coffee, which the owner of Procopio Cuto brought from Italy. Over time, the cafe became a cult place: such personalities as Diderot, Danton, Marat and Voltaire, and later – Alfred de Musset, Paul Verlaine and Anatole France loved to drop in here.

Isle of Cité – the cradle of Paris

The Isle of Cité, where you can admire the majestic Notre-Dame cathedral and the Pont Neuf bridge, can be safely called the “cradle of Paris”. In ancient times, there was a Celtic settlement on the site of modern quarters. In the 50s BC, the Romans conquered it, making the island the headquarters of Gaius Julius Caesar. The military planning center was connected to the rest of the city only by a pair of wooden bridges (on the site of the present Pont Neuf and Pont Saint-Michel), and a powerful wall fenced it around the perimeter. The inhabitants of Paris took refuge on Cité more than once during the siege of the city.

The capital of terraces

Speaking of Paris, one cannot fail to mention the terraces of cafes, bars and restaurants, of which there are a great many in the brilliant capital. More precisely, almost 10 thousand! It will take more than 29 years to visit all the capital’s terraces without even sitting down for a cup of coffee.

I hope you enjoyed my story and my Eiffel Tower. By the way, I make such 3D models to order. The first Eiffel Tower departed today to CLINTON, TN. Thank you, buyer!

Medici family

Medici family coat of arms, Renaissance heraldic illustration by Hugo Gerard Ströhl, Wikipedia image

Medici family, or my reasoning on the topic: I am an artist, and this is my opinion.

I recently read the story of the Medici family. Of course, I very impressed with the portrait and story of the little girl Bianca Medici.

Bia de’ Medici

Bianca de’ Medici, usually known as Bia de’ Medici, (c. 1536 – 1 March 1542) was the illegitimate daughter of Cosimo I de’ Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, born before his first marriage.

The identity of Bia’s mother is not known, but Cosimo I was likely no older than sixteen when he fathered her. According to Edgcumbe Staley’s The Tragedies of the Medici, some stories said the girl’s mother was a village girl from Trebbio, where the Medicis had built one of their first villas, while others said she was a gentlewoman from Florence. Only Cosimo I and the girl’s paternal grandmother, Maria Salviati, knew the identity of the girl’s mother, but Salviati refused to reveal it, though she did acknowledge Bia was the daughter of Cosimo.

La Bia

Staley wrote that the little girl was called La Bia, short for Bambina (little girl or baby). The name might also have been short for Bianca. Staley wrote that her father’s new wife, Eleonora di Toledo, refused to tolerate her presence in the palace after their marriage, so Cosimo sent her off to the Villa di Castello, her paternal grandmother’s chief residence north of Florence. However, other more reliable reports indicate that her stepmother “brought her up very lovingly”. Her paternal grandmother supervised the nurseries for all of the children of Cosimo I.

All of them, not only Cosimo’s illegitimate daughter, spent most of their time at the Villa di Castello and were raised by nurses, with minimal day-to-day contact with their parents, though both Cosimo and Eleonora heard reports of their progress and offered directions for their education, their living arrangements, and the clothing they wore. Bia shared her nursery with Giulia de’ Medici, the illegitimate daughter of Alessandro de’ Medici, Duke of Florence, who was close to her in age. She grew into a high-spirited, loving little girl who kept her grandmother and nurses entertained with her antics. Bia’s father adored his first-born child, and her paternal grandmother, Maria Salviati, said the little girl “was the comfort of our court, being so very affectionate.”

Bia’s parents

Both Bia and her cousin Giulia contracted a fast-moving fever in February 1542, from which Giulia recovered but Bia did not. Cosimo I received almost daily reports of Bia’s worsening condition from his mother, Maria Salviati. The child grew weaker between 25 February and 28 February and finally died on 1 March 1542.

When her legitimate half-sister Isabella de’ Medici was born six months after her death, her father rejoiced to have another daughter. Contemporaries who might normally have consoled him on his wife’s failure to present him with a second son instead congratulated him on her birth, knowing how he had grieved for the loss of Bia. ” congratulate you on the beautiful baby girl God has conceded to you in recompense for the one he has taken to join him in paradise,” wrote Paolo Giovio after the birth of Isabella.

This is a portrait of Bia de Medici by the artist Angelo Bronzino.

Please note the brown medallion. Yes, I thought about this locket when I created my new pendant. But I can see they turned out to be absolutely different! So I have a question. Should I repeat exactly the things that I liked? I’m talking about the exact repetition of all the details. Or is it enough for me to say: I am an artist and this is my opinion? Of course, I can create whatever I want. But do I need to tell the stories of my products? How do you think?

You can see my medallion here, please: https://fairylace.kozinenko.com/product/bia-de-medici-pendant/

Brain training

Cartoon pink brain with glasses lifting dumbbells, symbol of brain training, Pixabay illustration

Brain training, or how I decided to make a picture with riddles.

Hello everyone! If you read my previous posts carefully, then you know that I decided to seriously study the Italian language. Oh-ho-ho! Sometimes I hear my brains creak! 🙂 But I won’t give up, believe me! How do you train your brain? I found an interesting article on the Internet. And of course, I share with you.

Solving crosswords delays brain aging by 10 years, according to a study by researchers at the University of Exeter and King’s College London, the Daily Mail reported.

Indeed, neurologists have known for a long time that in order to maintain the performance of the brain with age, this organ must be trained in the same way as the rest of the body. It is no coincidence that people engaged in intellectual work, for example, scientists, for the most part retain clarity of thought and good memory until old age.

There is a separate branch of “neurobics” that studies various exercises for training the brain. According to the creator of neurobics, Professor Lawrence Katz, you can “load” the brain anytime and anywhere, the main thing is to make it work outside the box.

Here are some tips from Professor Katz:

– Carry out standard actions in an unusual way: for example, wash your face, closing your eyes, brush your teeth with your left hand (if you are right-handed);

– Break the usual patterns: change routes to work – from work;

– Learn poetry and foreign languages at any age;

– Try to update your life with new activities and hobbies;

– Solve crosswords and puzzles;

– Try to make spontaneous decisions, be easy-going.

Lace picture with a riddle

You may ask why I put a lace picture at the beginning of the post. Everything is very simple! These pictures are a kind of rebus, a puzzle. In each piece of lace, I made a violation of the pattern. In order to find the “error”, you need to very carefully analyze all the patterns in the picture. It also trains the brain a lot. Alternatively, you can check your guests this way. I assure you, this is fun!

Check these paintings in my store, please! https://fairylace.kozinenko.com/

The main signs of spring

Chaffinch bird on green grass, symbol of spring and Easter

The main signs of spring, or Happy Easter!

Hello, everyone!

I really like the main signs of the coming spring.  After all, we can enjoy clear skies and warm sun. We also admire the singing of birds in the spring. Finally, we celebrate the amazing Easter holiday. And Easter for Christians around the world is an important holiday. So, I want to remind you of the main symbols and traditions of Easter.

The main signs of spring

The egg were symbols of fertility and a new beginning of spring. Since time immemorial, eggs have been associated with the world or universe in many cultures. I think you also know that the egg is the symbol for represent new life and a new dawn.

Easter bunny
The rabbit, or hare, was a symbol of abundant new life in ancient times, and reminds us of spring and new life.

Easter Lilies
Of course, the white blossoms symbolize the purity of Jesus.

Lamb, or Sheep
Represents Jesus, the “Lamb of God.”

And of course, a religious holiday cannot do without the Cross.

I love the tradition of Easter hats and wearing new clothes for Easter.

I’m sure everyone loves Hot Buns and Pretzels, so delicious!

Spring flowers bloom in the spring, and symbolize spring and new life.
Baby animals born in the spring also represent spring and new life.

The Butterfly is one of the significant symbols of Easter. Its whole life cycle is meant to symbolize the life of Jesus Christ. The first stage, is the caterpillar, which stands for His life on Earth. Second phase begins from the cocoon stage, portraying the crucifixion and burial of Jesus. The third and final stage is the butterfly, representing His raising from the dead in a glorified body and peace.

So, I added a new pattern to my previous Easter works. I named this egg decoration Spring Sky. I hope you will enjoy. Welcome! https://fairylace.kozinenko.com/product/pattern-easter-egg-spring-sky/

Must-have lady’s makeup bag

Flat lay of cosmetics and lace handkerchief by FairyLacefromElena on terracotta background

Must-have lady’s makeup bag , or why a handkerchief in a cosmetic bag.

Hello, everyone!

In this post I want to talk about the manners of a real lady. Of course, I understand that during the quarantine, our movements are limited. It should be so, no doubt But even on those rare days when we leave the house wearing masks, we want to look beautiful. Do you agree? My great-grandmother used to say: a real lady can never look unkempt. Of course, you will not paint your face, for example, in a supermarket or restaurant. I’m sure you do it at home. Same as me. But sometimes we have to fix our makeup. Therefore, I always carry a cosmetic bag in my purse. And in my cosmetic bag I put the necessary minimum of cosmetics. Because if I put together a complete set, I have to carry a huge suitcase!

So what do I put in my cosmetic bag.

This is a lip pencil, lipstick, mascara, eyeshadow, powder with a mirror, a small bottle of perfume and a handkerchief. Probably your set is different from mine. Or they are similar. But do you have a beautiful handkerchief? I’m not talking about compact packages of disposable antiseptic wipes. Because we have this subject all the time. In the car or in your pocket. Yes? But I feel like a real lady when I take out a thin lace handkerchief. Ah, those lace accessories. Ladies at balls dropped them at the feet of their gentlemen, hiding a note in a fabric. And what conflict arose between the musketeers over a silk handkerchief? Have you read Dumas’ novel The Three Musketeers?

How to sew tatting lace to fabric

I don’t throw a handkerchief on the floor or hide notes in there, ha ha! But I can laugh to tears. Yes, I am a very emotional lady. In this case, my makeup is slightly disturbed. And the contents of the bag will help me! I will gently and delicately remove the tears from my eyes with a handkerchief. And I like it if my handkerchief makes the ladies around me envy. So I make my handkerchiefs myself. Everything is very simple. I need to weave lace, sew this lace to the fabric. And voila, you’re done! Try it too! I’m sure you will like it! Moreover, I have prepared for you a new edging pattern and a video tutorial on how to sew tatting lace to fabric. The video contains three methods. Therefore, you can choose whichever one you like.

You can read more about the pattern here: https://fairylace.kozinenko.com/product/edging-pattern-fluffy-clouds/

And this is a link to a video tutorial, welcome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akpnypHDdW8&list=UU3dn4_9pp7tIKA2k564wLBQ

I will be glad if you write in the comments what lies in your cosmetic bag. And also leave feedback on my new pattern and video, please. Subscribe to stay informed. Thanks!

What inspires me

Long shuttle tatted earring in silver and violet metallic threads with chainmaille-style chains — FairyLacefromElena inspiration

What inspires me, or ideas are floating around!

Hello, everyone!

Surely you are interested in the title of this post. Yes, I really want to tell you where I get the ideas to create my patterns. Again. But very briefly. Because this is an unusually broad topic. And you can also tell me what inspires you. It is very interesting. Write in the comments, please!

Yes, ideas actually fly around us. You only need to be able to consider the beauty that surrounds you. This is the sky, sun, clouds, flowers. They are also sounds and smells. Of course, these are smiles and glow of eyes. Oh, but what about quarantine, you ask. To this I will answer you: go to the Internet!

Thanks to this invention, we can meet people from different countries. I have made friends with many talented artists, whose work I admire. And today I want to tell you about another talented jewelry designer and creator. She works in a complex and difficult technique of chain mail weaving of jewelry. Oh, this is unique! Trust me! This is Asia Azran.

The process of chain mail weaving of a bracelet from Asia Azran

How do these delicate feminine hands create intricate METAL patterns? It’s a mystery to me.

I will not publish many of Asia’s works. Just go to her FB account and admire it. You can even buy it! https://www.facebook.com/FestiJe

I digress from the topic, it seems. We talked about inspiration. I really liked these earrings from Asia for their grace and brevity. However, the threads do not look like metal rings at all, alas. But the main thing is the main idea. So I decided to use metallic strands and pieces of metallic chain. Oh, I am a master of chain mail too (ha ha ha!)! Can you guess where my model is? 🙂

So, feel free to use whatever you see on the Internet. Anything you like will help your creativity. The main thing is the idea that is born when looking at the unusual, interesting and beautiful! (But I’m not talking about plagiarism, by no means!)

I named my new earring earrings Asia, of course! Asenka, thanks for the inspiration!

How to improve Karma

Soft lilac graphic scheme of Alba tatting lace earrings on a white background, symbolizing creativity and positive karma #FairyLacefromElena

How to improve karma, or why I am making patterns.

Hello everyone! Recently I read an excellent treatise on the structure of the world, society and the role of man in it. Yes, do not be surprised, because I am fond of philosophy and esotericism. Of course, only after class tatting! I will not tire you with long quotes. Just a few important thoughts, I think. Of course, you know what Karma is. This is a person’s destiny, a task that he must fulfill in his life. How to improve Karma? Of course, a person must do good deeds, be honest, kind. But the most important human task is creativity. This is what this clever book says. And I agree with that.

Creativity surrounds us everywhere. Is not it? The seamstress made a dress. The artist painted a picture. The manicurist made an incredible drawing on your nails. Mom cooked lunch and added a new ingredient to the salad – very tasty and new! Now tell me, are you tatting – is it a craft or creativity? This is creativity and art – I am sure you will agree with me – I believe that any activity can become a real art if you treat the work creatively.

And I really like to fantasize. Therefore, I create tatting patterns. Oh, how many ideas are running in my head! I also love it infinitely when my ideas take on a new look. By the way, this is how my customers improve their karma! After all, they do not just make a tatting from a drawing. They show their creativity! I love getting photos of your work. This makes me happy and inspires me for further creativity, of course.

Products according to my patterns

See how Elena added large beads to the pattern. Of course, the collar is great. Right?

And this slave bracelet ring Shakti was made by Marianne. She took white thread and got the perfect wedding accessory! Do you agree?

And these absolutely cute 3D bows were made by Christie for her daughter. Incredible creativity! I’m sure you will appreciate it too!

Recently Dawn stunned me. Yes, I did not expect such an amazing embodiment of my Mandala. Because it turned out to be a Dreamcatcher!

Thank you, thank you, thank you my creative buyers! And I really hope that new buyers will also show their creativity! After all, it improves our common karma 🙂

How important is the right choice

How important is the right choice

How important is the right choice.

Hello everyone!

Yes Yes! You know, of course, that the right choice is very important in life. Oh, it’s not easy, of course. We are constantly faced with various difficulties and problems. Is not it? What dress to wear? Which movie to watch? And which university to apply to? Or which job should you choose? So many, many, many different questions. Of course, there are significant or simple questions. But we are very afraid to make a mistake. I asked myself a question. Why is the right choice so important? Probably because the final result depends on my choice. I understand that sometimes someone’s life and destiny depend on the right choice. But sometimes the choice doesn’t big really matter. In fact, is there a difference what color of shoes I wear today? Ha ha!

However, imagine that you wanted to order a white tablecloth, and the seller sent you a blue one. However, imagine that you wanted to order a white tablecloth, and the seller sent you a blue one. Will you be delighted in this case? I’m sure you will be upset. Of course, when a master makes a product to order, he discusses all the details with the buyer. And here everything is clear, although sometimes it is not easy! But it often happens that I just embody my idea. I need to materialize my inspiration. And in this case, my choice is very important, I think.

After all, my creation should be liked by “viewers”. Ideally, I would like to cause complete delight, of course! (this is immodest, ha ha!) . But you can’t guess all the tastes. Therefore, I sometimes make several versions of the product. For example, look at Esther’s napkin. Which option do you like best? Write in the comments, this is very welcome!

I suggest you make your own version according to my tutorial. Welcome: https://fairylace.kozinenko.com/product/doily-esther-tatting-pattern/
